The past few weeks of internship have been killing me quite literally. Really amazing that I'm still here.

Yesterday was worse. Supervisor #2 expected so much from me! And I was going to have to update her yesterday and all with the stuff she's assigned and I was scared shitless because I knew that what I did wasn't going to be up to her standards, and I wasn't even finished with some of them and she's a heck of a worry-wart when it comes to deadlines (which is pretty normal, but this is ridiculous!).

So I da bao-ed some food back to the office to get some work done, hands shaking and all, while praying in tongues (you know I'm starting to get really desparate when I pray in tongues).

And then, for some reason, just before the lunch hour was over, she asked me to hand over a portion of my work so that she could take it home to read.

Wait. Did she say home???

I was sssooooo relieved  I practically spent the rest of the day taking my time to make phone calls to clients and reading the news from the web. Then I met a friend later to watch Madagascar.

Sweet Jesus, thank you so much! XDXDXD

Wow!

I recently met with a friend to watch a T'ang Quartet concert. We updated each other on our internship blues (haha), and we had a good time until I realized that I didn't even know where she was working! So when I asked that question, guess what. It was the exact company she had been applying for, and I helped in getting her resume look good! And I thought, "Wow, that's just awesome!" Resumes are not easy to do. By submitting it to your prospective employer, you are already giving away half of yourself until the interview round. And I only helped her with some of the grammatical changes and the phrasing of her cover letter, plus a couple more rephrasings with her resume itself (nothing bombastic though. Don't want her to tread on her own toes). And she got the job!

First of all, I am very proud of her. She pretty much enjoys her work there (although yes, we share the same problems like trying to look busy), and it seems to me that everything is working smoothly for her.

All I can say is that I'm glad I was part of the process in helping her get what she needs. :)

And I revamped my main blog too. And it looks pretty. More like me XD

This is a nice surprise :)

I got a 6-inch subway sandwich - for SGD$2.00.

You know one of those Sub Club cardie things that they give out, and the stamps you found annoying with? Well, if you collected the stamps, you're supposed to be entitled to a free medium-sized drink with every purchase of a Subway sandwich.

For some reason they charged me 2 bucks for the sandwich and the drink during lunchtime.

My cheapest meal yet right here at work! And that means more money for the rest of the week! Haha! So thankful!

Argh, wat a day

For today and tomorrow, I am going to be under the charge of my Superior #2, and I have to emcee for both nights.

And tonight was worse. I had to emcee in English and CHINESE.

Believe me, I was in panick mode all day. There wasn't a moment of peace for me. I felt really damn tired.

But thank goodness I'm still alive, and now I've got the organizers thanking me like I was their last hope or something.

It was quite an experience. For once I felt like something has truly been accomplished.

Tomorrow: formal, and a free movie night.

I hope the company gives me good feedback to the school!

But praise Jesus all the way for this glorious moment!

I saw Lemony Snickets' Last Night

Kind of a lame title, but yes, I was watching the DVD last night once I got home from work. The more I watched it, the more I hated Count Olaf, and the more endearing Klaus became to me. :P Violet was very impressive with her quick thinking, and Sunny... well, let's just say I won't have her around the house too often (she's too smart for a baby!).

Okay, not exactly relevant to the main purpose of this blog, but that's because Blogger.com has utterly refused to let me in. So here I am. Just shoot me.

A strange thing must be happening to me. I went for body pump again yesterday (I know I mentioned this somewhere... just can't recall where or when!), and Christina, the instructor, was pushing us to the limit I was really expecting my muscles to ache today. You know the feeling: when you open your eyes in the morning, you feel so groggy you just don't feel like getting up. And when you do, your body is screaming in pain and you just absolutely want to stay home rather than go through the routine of torture by doing simple things like bending down.

Strangely enough, I don't feel a thing. My muscles are in tip-top condition, and the only part thats' irritating me a bit are the joints between my shoulders and my arm. But I can still lift a couple of heavy things, I grant. Heck, I even flew down the stairs on the way to work and I didn't feel a thing!

This must be a good sign that I'm my muscles are given the toning it desparately needs in a long while. :P

Whew! Cold-calling in practice!

Well yesterday didn't start off too badly. I did get some work done, and I actually managed to find my way out of those tricky situations where I had to call some manager of those gyms and spas (or some form of health clubs) without telling them what the true motive was.

I cannot emphasize enough how much I HATE cold-calling! Those Amex days at the IOI Plaza still haunt me. But grace grace, I found a way out of it, and now I can comfortably give those contacts to Superior #2 without feeling like I'm cheating her. Now she tells me not to give it to her so early. So extra time for me to blog around! :P

And yesterday I made the decision to walk to Millenia Walk for lunch. Suntec is starting to get boring (I've been coming in and out of thise place six times a week!). Had lunch at Yoshinoya. LESS CARBS FOR ME PLEASE!!! Those are the very things that make you fat.

And I got new weight-training gloves. They're black this time. I'm not sure why I got them, but I thought I'd better get some before the current ones wear out. And I got a new top for gymming too. (Why Pay More was having a clearance sale, that's why I was spending).

But enough for now. I am still looking for this book by Greg Laurie called I'm Going on a Diet Tomorrow. I would think he'd be making some references to dieting, but the main idea of this book is about temptation. And after listening to his sermons on A New Beginning, I thought maybe his books might be pretty good too. Well, I'll be on the lookout nonetheless.

Back to the main blog...

*YAWN*

Well I finally found the piggy bank I'd been looking for :P As soon as a get my camera, you can see it. It's really cute! I also got this toothy container (again, hopefully I'll get pictures to substantiate that) that looks really really nice and alternative.

And I just realized that I hadn't taken pictures of the geberas that I bought on Wednesday. And they were really expensive too: $1.50 per stalk. But unlike other geberas that you get from elsewhere, their stems were surprisingly strong, and the colors - pink, deep maroon, and orange - were very striking and vibrant. My mum tells me I should get another orange in place of the maroon. Wait till I tell her how much they cost. Hee hee hee.

So far I am approaching my 3rd week of internship. I have to say that while it's been interesting, it's proven me one thing: I don't think I'll be seeing myself in marketing anytime soon. Maybe communications, maybe media. Marketing? PR? Bleargghhh...

Great news! I passed my BTE! (not with flying colors, but still, it's a decent passing grade).

I also got two free passes to watch Kingdom of Heaven next weekend, courtesy of my internship Boss who's decided that she's NOT going to take chances of letting the theatre go empty (it's at Great World City).

So, my friend and I are going next Thursday night to watch Orlando Bloom in action. Mwahahaha

But seriously, I wasn't even intending to watch that movie. I have this feeling that it's going to bore me to death.

Oh well, guess it'll be a few precious hours of bonding time with my friend, whom I've strangely felt repulsed by.

AAUUGGGHHHH!!!!!!!!

Goodness me. I've not touched this place for a MONTH.

PUNISH ME!!!

Considering that I go online so frequently, it amazes me how I am still able to neglect a few places.

Ah well...

Let's see... anything good happening today?

No, not yet.

Perhaps you can all wait for me to return from my BTE (Basic Theory Evaluation) and we'll see how things go.

Oh yes.

Remember how I was complaining about how busy things were last semester (what with 6 classes and a part-time job at Apple and everything)?

THAT WAS MY BEST SEMESTER EVER!!!!! 2 A+s!!! A PERSONAL RECORD!

*high fives all around*

I AM GUILTY! I said I was going to write everyday now look at me! I've broken my own rules! :(

But oh well..

So much has been happening this past week (has it been a week since I last posted anything?). The latest thing I want to be thankful for? My new silver iPod mini, pioneer batch. :)

Step class is getting easier too. But it's still enjoyable.

Um, seriously, nothing much to say...my mind's gone back to my take-home exam that's been zapping me of my time and energy. :(
